Postsecondary Basic Needs convening Thursday January 5 at 1pm

Washington postsecondary students face growing basic needs insecurity, impacting their ability to persist and complete their degrees.  Join the Washington Student Achievement Council and partners in a 2023 convening of cross-sector leaders on Thursday, January 5, 1:00 pm-2:30 pm (Register here).

We’ll Discuss the Following:

  • How common is basic needs insecurity for college students, and who is most impacted?  Washington is the first state to assess basic needs insecurity across public colleges and universities, and we’ll preview findings.

  • What is Washington doing to address student’s postsecondary basic needs? Advocates will share perspectives and seek your feedback.

  • How can we increase awareness and engagement on postsecondary basic needs?  We’ll consider next steps and ways to engage.

This meeting will build on Washington’s momentum in understanding and moving forward policy and investments that support postsecondary students’ basic needs.  (More on Washington postsecondary basic needs research, resources and events).
