Visiting the Capitol Campus during the 2024 legislative session? Here’s what you need to know

The 2024 legislative session begins Jan. 8 and is expected to bring a large mix of visitors, lawmakers. and engaged citizens to the Capitol Campus through the month of March. If you plan to visit during this time, here are some tips to help you get the most out of your visit.

Events

Each year, many permitted free speech events and activities take place on the Capitol Campus. These events can have an impact on traffic and parking. To plan ahead and see what’s happening on the day of your visit, see our Capitol Campus event calendar on the DES website.

Parking and shuttle service

Metered visitor parking is available in several locations on the Capitol Campus. You can view the DES interactive map to find parking and electric vehicle charging stations available to visitors. The cost to park is $2 per hour on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Charging fees vary by station and can be found on the interactive map. During the 2024 legislative session, a shuttle service will be available to transport visitors and employees to different Campus locations every 15 minutes. See the shuttle route.
