Washington State Department of Transportation Disparity Study - Public Introduction Webinar
The Washington State Department of Transportation is conducting a disparity study for its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program. WSDOT seeks to ensure that DBEs and other businesses owned by minorities or women, as well as veteran-owned businesses, have equal access to contracting opportunities and that WSDOT’s current initiatives remain legally defensible and administratively successful.
The study will further examine factors necessary for entrepreneurial success, such as access to business capital, bonding, networks, suppliers, and other resources. The study will also gather anecdotal evidence of any continuing effects of past or present race and sex discrimination and the impact of the current WSDOT programs. Finally, the study will review WSDOT’s current efforts and activities and make recommendations for future initiatives and enhancements.
The study will further examine qualitative experiences and solicit suggestions of business owners and stakeholder groups for possible program enhancements.
Your participation is, therefore, critical to informing the study results and recommendations.
The public information webinar will introduce the study team, present the study elements and methodology, describe the study process, and outline how stakeholders and business owners can participate.
WSDOT welcomes the participation of all business owners, those currently doing business with WSDOT, and those interested in contracting opportunities.
Please join us to learn about this important project and how you can participate.
