Statewide Response Updates
Newest numbers. The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 1,203,311 confirmed cases as of 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 23.* There have been 10,458 COVID-19 deaths in Washington.
*Data note: As noted in the new release mentioned below — Effective Jan. 24, DOH will update the COVID-19 data dashboard on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Starting with Tuesday, Jan. 25, we will no longer update the dashboard on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Department of Health to make significant changes to COVID-19 data dashboard. DOH's COVID-19 data dashboard is now displaying current trends and information most applicable to the current phase of the pandemic. The dashboard is moving from daily updates to three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Read the full news release.
Updated DOH guidance documents
Interim Guidance for Transferring Residents between Long-Term Care and other Health Care Settings: This is the first in a set of anticipated updates to health care and long-term care guidance following recent and expected updates to CDC health care guidelines.
COVID-19 Recommendations for Higher Education: Summer 2021 and the 2021-2022 Academic Year: This guidance saw minor updates referring to new CDC isolation and quarantine guidelines, including information on staying up to date with vaccinations against COVID-19.
Symptom Decision Tree and Contact Tracing Checklist for K-12 Schools and COVID-19 Contact Tracing Guide and FAQ for K-12 Schools: These two documents have been updated to align with the current versions of K-12 COVID-19 Requirements for Summer 2021 and the 2021-2022 School Year and Supplemental Considerations to Mitigate COVID-19 Transmission in K-12 Schools for information on isolation, quarantine, and the expanded Test to Stay program.
Guard members activated to support hospitals. At least 100 members of the Washington National Guard were activated on Jan. 21 to support three COVID-19 testing sites in Olympia, Seattle, and Tacoma, and to perform non-clinical duties at hospitals in Everett, Richland, Spokane, Wenatchee, and Yakima. Next, get WA Notify so you’ll know if you’ve been near another person who later tests positive for COVID-19. To get quickly and easily tested anywhere in Washington, visit the DOH COVID-19 testing locations page. For K-12 students, staff, and parents/guardians, learn more about our partnership that helps schools provide easy COVID-19 testing on site. Once vaccinated, you can provide your vaccination status using WA Verify.

The state COVID-19 Assistance Hotline is a general information line related to COVID-19. If you need information or have a general question, call 1-800-525-0127, then press # or text 211-211 for help. New hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and on observed state holidays. You can also text the word “Coronavirus” to 211-211 to receive information and updates on your phone wherever you are. You will receive links to the latest information on COVID-19, including county-level updates, and resources for families, businesses, students, and more.

If you or anyone you know is having difficulties managing stress, call the Washington Listens support line at 1-833-681-0211. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. TTY and language access services are available by using 7-1-1 or their preferred method.
