Latino Leadership Network Updates!

Join discussion Wednesday and begin your healing: Decolonizing self-care for Latinos

March 10, 11 a.m. - noon

The Latino Leadership Network is partnering with the state Commission on Hispanic Affairs and other state business resource groups to offer the webinar: Decolonizing Self-care for the Hispanic/Latinx Community.

The webinar will be led by Ariadna Acosta, a bilingual mental health specialist with experience in social psychology, human rights, and gender studies. Currently Acosta works as a Behavioral Health Equity Specialist for the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health at the University of Texas in Austin.

The webinar, presented by LLN's Health & Wellness Committee, will describe how to implement self-care strategies that are not rooted solely in Western and Euro-centric models (decolonizing) and will include a trauma-informed care perspective.

You do not need to preregister. Use this link to join the webinar on Zoom on March 10 at 11 a.m.

Event shares insights on disability awareness

In February we hosted a powerful and eye opening discussion on barriers faced by people with disabilities during a Lunch & Learn virtual meeting. The event also included guidance from state  Disability Inclusion Network Chair Joslyn Nelson on ways we can be better advocates. If you were unable to attend the session, take time to view our recording of the meeting on LLN's YouTube channel.
