Share your thoughts on LGBTQ issues as a state worker

RAIN, the Washington State LGBTQ+ business resource group, is looking for state government employees to participate in a survey to learn more about individual experiences with LGBTQ+ related policies and practices in place statewide and their impact.

Why does this matter? RAIN’s Best Practices Subcommittee looks at current practices related to the LGBTQ+ community and makes recommendations to state agencies. The results from this survey will drive some of RAIN's work, as it will help identify gaps and highlight areas that could benefit from policy recommendations. Since the last survey, RAIN has made recommendations on inclusive bathroom signage, on pronouns in external and internal communication, and on adding x/nonbinary to forms asking for gender. RAIN also started an annual RAIN Outstanding Agency awards and annual pride month toolkit.

What if I don’t identify as LGBTQ+? That’s okay! RAIN wants to hear from a broad representation of state employees. Your answers will still help.

Are my answers anonymous? Yes, your responses are anonymous. We do ask for the agency name and some demographic information; however, we do not ask for your name or contact info.

How do I take the survey? You can take the survey right here.

How long will the survey be open?  The survey will remain open until January 29, 2021.

If you have any questions about this survey, contact marisa.sanchez-reed@sao.wa.gov  or jmarino@esd.wa.gov. If you would like more information about RAIN, e-mail: RAIN@ofm.wa.gov or visit https://lgbtq.wa.gov/rain
