WORKFORCE BOARD TO DISCUSS SYSTEM RESPONSE TO COVID CRISIS 
The Workforce Board will hear from partners at an April 15 meeting on how Washington's workforce system is responding to the COVID-19 public health crisis, which has shuttered businesses and caused an unparalleled surge in unemployment. The Board will also discuss policy ideas to address the crisis, and economic recovery from it. This will be a virtual-only meeting. More details coming soon.

PUBLIC HEARING ON WASHINGTON COLLEGE GRANT INCLUDES APPRENTICESHIP
The 2019 Legislature expanded a long-standing college financial aid program—the Washington College Grant (formerly known as the State Need Grant). The grant is now able to support participants of registered apprenticeship programs. The Washington Student Achievement Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 7 at 2 p.m. to receive comments regarding this and other proposed rule changes governing the state financial aid program.
