Here's a special opportunity for one lucky Auburn kiddo! The City of Auburn is looking for an "official tree lighter"; a special, well-deserving child between the ages of 5 and 9 to help Santa light the tree at City Hall Plaza, on Saturday, December 7, 2019 during the Tree Lighting ceremony following the Santa Parade. The City of Auburn will be accepting nominations through December 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM. One randomly selected entrant will be chosen and contacted by December 4.

It’s time to start thinking about holiday fun and we are so excited for the annual Santa Parade to be held on Main Street in downtown Auburn on Saturday, December 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The Santa Parade has been an Auburn tradition for decades and kicks-off the holiday festivities in Auburn. This year, we are introducing a lighted Parade, which will feature a variety of drill teams, dancers, children's groups, one-of-a-kind cars, plus so much more. All entries must be completed lighted.
The parade route travels west along Main St. from E St. NE to A St. NW.
Free parade entry for families, scout troops, school groups, dance, cheer, drill, band and all other non-profit groups. There is a $10 entry fee for commercial businesses.
We hope you are able to join us as a parade participant (or a spectator) for this downtown, holiday Parade. Spectators enjoy entries that are creative, unique and decorated to celebrate the holiday in Auburn.

White River Valley Museum
Check out the Festival of Trees: A Celebration of Community and Culture at the White River Valley Museum. Catch the spirit of the season and learn about the traditions and cultures that make up the rich tapestry of people that call the South Sound home. The exhibit features artificial pine trees decorated by local ethnic heritage groups including: Sons of Italy, Iraqi Community Center of WA, Polish Home, Chinese Americans League, Sons of Norway, White River Buddhist Temple, Pacific Asian Empowerment Program, the Auburn Marshallese Community, and more. The whole Museum will be decorated for the holidays, making it a perfect stop for the holidays.

Saturday, December 7 | Cookies with Mrs. Claus

Mrs. Claus will be stopping by before the Santa Parade for a special afternoon of holiday cheer! Bring the little ones for stories read by Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, hot cocoa and Christmas crafts. And, don't forget the camera for a photo op. It's sure to get you in the holiday spirit! Activities include: cookie decorating, story time, crafts, holiday face-painting. Preregistration admission is $8 for residents and $10 for non-residents. On-site registration is $12 at the door for children. Adults are free! Sing in the holidays with this annual free community concert performed by the 133rd Army Band of the Washington National Guard. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this festive and rousing concert of patriotic music honoring our troops, together with all of your favorite holiday music and carols. Tickets are free, but required for admission and available for pick-up at the Auburn Community & Event Center (910 9th Street SE). You are encouraged to bring boxed or canned food for the Auburn Food Bank when you pick up tickets. Limit 6 per family.
