Latino Community Fund of Washington State Announces New Executive Director
We are excited to announce that following a thorough process, Latino Community Fund of Washington State’s Board voted to hire our Acting Interim Executive Director, Lilliane Ballesteros, to serve in the role of Executive Director of Latino Community Fund of Washington State.
Our Process and Decision
This year, Latino Community Fund underwent a process to find our new Executive Director that included all staff and board input. LCF worked with Clover Search Works to lead a process that spanned several months. We were looking for someone to lead our organization during this time of growth and expanded leadership across Washington State.
Following a board and staff retreat, we collectively decided on what values were most important for our new leader. The Board of Directors Search Committee interviewed candidates and made a final recommendation. We wanted a leader who would be: passionate about the work LCF does to invest in and build leaders, inclusive and collaborative in their decision making, and committed to bringing transparency and accountability. We sought someone committed to leading the organization with a united purpose that stays true to LCF’s values of equity, collaboration, and leadership.
Lilliane is a leader who brings enthusiasm, passion for LCF’s mission, and a commitment to our statewide work. The staff and board are excited to welcome Lilliane as the organization’s Executive Director.
Lilliane’s Background and Experience
Lilliane joined LCF over 4 years ago in the Development and Communication role. She led grant support for the organization, planned the Annual Gala, and developed communication plans to expand the reach of LCF. She was asked to serve as the Interim Executive Director in January 2019.
During her time at LCF, Lilliane has worked alongside a group of incredible leaders as LCF has experienced monumental growth, resulting in expanded programming in Yakima, Wenatchee, Bellingham, Snohomish and South King County. She worked with fellow staff members to create actionable and long-lasting leadership programs, as LCF expanded its voter engagement work across Washington State, invested in organizations and leaders through the Community Grants Committee, implemented innovative programs through LCF’s Healthy Latino Families Initiative, and provided scholarships through LCF’s Alianza Youth Leadership Program.
Lilliane brings her experience of working in development and community leadership for local organizations to this role. Her collaborative spirit and commitment to social justice will build on the energy, accomplishments, and history of Latino Community Fund. We are excited to welcome Lilliane into this new role, to reintroduce Latino Community Fund to our community, and to continue investing in community leadership for years to come.
We invite you to join us at one of the celebratory events we are planning in Washington. We also welcome you to meet our staff, learn more about Latino Community Fund’s vision for the future, and join us as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, build our leadership pipelines, and continue to build on the beauty and strength of our community.
-Patricia Carrion Moras, Latino Community Fund of Washington State Board President
