Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs selected as a grant recipient from Career Connect Washington (CCW)
We are beyond excited to share the news that our proposal was one of four successful bids for the second round of intermediary grant funding from Career Connect Washington. The Commission on Hispanic Affairs would like to reiterate our deepest appreciation for your leadership and engagement as we approach nearly three years of collaboration to bring the P-TECH model to Washington State (ptech.org). The proposal of Career Connect Tech academies would see three pilot communities develop career launch programs while also developing a program manual to be scaled throughout Washington. These academies would provide college access, industry experience including paid internships, and industry-recognized credentials for students.
This work is built on the strength of the leadership of our partners, advocates and supporters. That leadership was affirmed in the successful awarding of this grant and further demonstrates how important this effort is for implementing innovative solutions that leverage community assets.
Other successful bidders who were selected in Round 2 to develop Career Explore and Career Launch programs in the industries named are the following: Washington State University - Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine (Health Science); Wenatchee Valley College (Engineering); and Elements of Education Partners (Healthcare).
