The Commission on Hispanic Affairs Spanish Language Outreach Radio Program, “Conozca su Gobierno con Uriel Iñiguez”
This is a live radio broadcast that airs every Tuesday on Radio Luz 1680 AM (Seattle) and Radio Cadena 91.9 FM (Yakima) and Radio KSVR 91.7 FM (Skagit), every Wednesday on Radio Rey 1360 AM (Seattle), and every Thursday on Radio La Nueva 103.3 FM and 92.1 FM (Wenatchee).
Every week on this program we bring state agency representatives live on the air to discuss topics in Spanish that are relevant to the Latino community. The public has the opportunity to call in and speak directly with agency representatives. Radio is a very important means of communication for our community, and this type of information is not usually readily available for monolingual Spanish speakers, which makes this program very valuable.
With your donations we can help to broaden our broadcast range by partnering with more Spanish radio stations, and reach many more listeners.
This report is compiled every 2 years by the Commission. Top researchers in their fields write articles about the history of Latinos in Washington, the economic development of our community, social issues, education, health, immigration, and other issues that strongly affect Hispanics. Our commissioners distribute this report to the public in community meetings, and its most important function is to aid legislators in making policy decisions. The assessment contains policy recommendations made by professors, researchers, and commissioners.
With the help of donations, we can expand the areas of research, and better educate our legislators and the general public about the state of Hispanics in Washington.
